Meet Designer Sarah Ryan

Sarah Ryan is a 21 year old student designer from Midleton, Co.Cork currently preparing to start her 3^rd year of BA Hons in Limerick School of Art & Design.

Most recently Sarah represented Ireland at the International Triumph Inspiration Award in Lingerie Design which opened Berlin Fashion Week, one of 35 finalists from over 5000 applicants.  This resulted in her piece “The Edge of Euphoria” , inspired by rock muses of the 70s, being worn by British Supermodel Lily Cole, photographed by Vogue International photographer Ellen Von Unwerth & judged by industry professionals like Helena Christensen & Brix Smith-Start.

Her designs have appeared on numerous blogs, newspapers & magazines including the Daily Mail, StyleBible, Fashionising & the German National News.

Having previously interned with Irish Womenswear designer Mia O Connell, Sarah will undertake a six month international placement as of Feb ’12 as part of her course.

For CFW ’11, Sarah will showcase a mini collection inspired by the diversity of coming from a large family & various familial influences, exploring a range of self-engineered prints & tooling leather.
