Meet Design Student Eileen O’Herlihy

Eileen O’ Herlihy comes from a scientific background but has always loved fashion and made own knitwear from an early age. When she moved to Mallow a few years ago she took the opportunity to gain training in sewing, designing and pattern drafting by enrolling in Mallow College of Design & Tailoring’s part-time City & Guilds Diploma in Fashion. Last year her collection won the best daywear category for second years at the college’s end of year fashion show. She is currently in her final year.

Eileen loves to work with a range of fabrics and textures to create garments with a twist. Her collection for CFW 2012 was inspired by volcanoes.
