About Cork Fashion Week
Providing a platform for homegrown design talent & promoting local fashion professionals
Lockdown Events & Model Management founded Cork Fashion Week in 2008. The event has been hugely successful, with attendance figures growing to over 1,000 women & men at Cork Fashion Week 2011. Cork Fashion Week provides a platform for young fashion designers as well as established fashion brands and supports retail businesses throughout Cork City and County.
The Cork Fashion Week brand has developed over a number of years, and has become synonymous with premier fashion events, fashion shows and high fashion in the Region. Since 2008, audiences at the annual shows have grown with guests travelling from Dublin, Belfast and beyond to the weeks shows.
Shows during the week are designed to give graduate and student designers a national platform for their designs as well as promoting local boutiques, stylists, makeup artists and hair stylists. Guests judges for the prestigious ‘CFW Designer of the Year Award’ have included Peter O’Brien, Ann Marie O’Connor, Mia O’Connell, Jennifer Rothwell and Emma Connolly to name but a few.
Due to the past three years of rapid growth, CFW has now attracted national as well as local press & media attention which we endeavour to benefit all our up and coming design talent and fashion colleagues under the Cork Fashion Week umbrella.
